Why do all top sports teams have a great coach?
Coaching is a way to improve performance and to sharpen the skills of high performers so they get to the top.
Coaching:
- Helps individuals become more focused and motivated
- Acts as a mentor - not a consultant
- Provides an independent sounding board
- Provides an outside, expert perspective
- Identifies strengths and weaknesses
- Is real time and on the job
Business results from coaching include:
- Improved productivity from more efficient processes
- Improved sales or other key performance indicators
- Reduced costs by avoiding expensive and unnecessary expenditure or getting more bang for buck
- Increase employee retention
- Increase customer satisfaction
Coaching for web managers is like business coaching but focused exclusively on the activities involved in managing a website.
Our process:
Plan. Action. Review. Refine
- Plan:
- establish goals and desired outcomes
- obtain agreement on goals and approach
- Action:
- Carry out coaching activities
- Typically this will be face to face
- This may include implementation of tools or improvements, discussion of issues, observations etc.
- Review:
- Assess results against desired outcomes
- Refine:
- Repeat, practice and fine tune as required
Coaching can be as formal or informal as you need.
